COLONEL GOLF TEAM TO PLAY IN MARSHALL INVITATIONAL

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team will travel to Huntington, WV, to play at the Guyan Country Club in the Marshall Invitational Friday and Saturday.

"Guyan is a course which you have to be familiar with to play well. Brad Morris has played there many times, so look for big things out of him," said EKU head coach Pat Stephens.

"We will take the top four finishers from last week, and one more that I will choose this week. We are looking for more consistency from our three to five players," said Stephens.

EKU is heading to Marshall off a tie for 10th place at the Johnny Owens Invitational at Kearney Hills Golf Club in Lexington. Standing out for the Colonels at this UK tournament was junior Brad Morris, who had a three round score of 220 which put him at a plus four and tied him for eighth place.

Senior Eric Willenbrink fired a 227 which put him at +11. Finishing +14 and +15 were senior Brandon Tucker (230) and junior Sam Covitz (231), respectively. Rounding out the Colonels' squad was senior Chad Creech who scored a 235, which put him at +19 for the tourney.

"Brad (Morris) and Sam (Covitz) are coming along real nice as the season goes along. They both will make the trip to Marshall," said EKU head coach Pat Stephens.
