MORRIS NAMED THIRD TEAM GTE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA
RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University golfer Brad Morris has been selected to the GTE Academic All-America Third Team for the University Division Men's Spring Sports At-Large Team.
Morris, who will be a junior at EKU this fall, was a first-team selection last month on the GTE Academic All-District IV First Team which was comprised of athletes from the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Michigan.
Morris, a native of Stanton and a 1998 graduate of Powell County High School where he won the state championship as a senior, was second on the Colonels and 13th in the Ohio Valley Conference during the 2000 regular season in stroke average per 18 holes with his 75.9 mark.
A perfect 4.0 student with a pre-medicine/chemistry major, Morris received the OVC's Medal of Honor for 1999, signifying the top GPA among all of the OVC men's golfers.
Morris was chosen to the national third team by vote of the GTE Academic All-America Committee.
