EKU MEN'S GOLF TEAM READIES FOR PERSIMMON RIDGE INTERCOLLEGIATE

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team is preparing for the Persimmon Ridge Intercollegiate in Louisville, Oct. 18-20. The Colonels are coming off a 12th place finish in the Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate in Franklin, IN, earlier this week.

EKU shot a 54-hole total of 897. Toledo won the tourney with a fantastic 15-under team total of 849 in the 18-team field. Eastern's team score was only seven strokes out of fifth place in the tightly-contested tourney.

"This was a tough course, but it really helped our guys to gain some confidence," said EKU men's golf coach Pat Stephens.

Senior Andy Games led the Colonels with his tie for 13th place with a three-over par 219. Other Eastern scores were Eric Willenbrink (223), James Milam (229) and Brad Morris and Brandon Tucker (233 each).
